Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 5 July 2026
SocialMate is a personal WhatsApp automation, monitoring, and response tool for managing your own conversations — not a bulk-messaging, broadcast, or spam platform. This policy explains what SocialMate may and may not be used for. It applies to everyone who uses SocialMate and is part of our Terms of Use.
1. Use it for consent-based messaging
You may use SocialMate to automate WhatsApp accounts you own or are authorized to operate, and to communicate with recipients who have consented to receive your messages — for example order updates, appointment reminders, customer support, and replies to people who contacted you first.
2. Do not use it to spam
You agree NOT to use SocialMate to:
- Send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or messages to people who have not consented to hear from you.
- Harass, threaten, deceive, defraud, or impersonate anyone.
- Scrape, harvest, or buy contact data without a lawful basis and consent.
- Send content that is illegal, hateful, or that infringes anyone’s rights.
- Attempt to evade or defeat SocialMate’s anti-spam protections in order to send at scale.
3. Compliance is your responsibility
You are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary consents and for complying with WhatsApp’s Terms of Service and all applicable laws, including anti-spam, telemarketing, and data-protection laws such as GDPR, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, CASL, and LGPD. SocialMate runs on your own machine; we do not monitor your messages and we disclaim responsibility for how you use the software.
4. How SocialMate helps you stay within bounds
SocialMate is built to discourage spam, not enable it. Every message is sent individually through an always-on anti-spam pipeline with per-minute, per-hour, and per-day caps, account warm-up, human-like pacing, and automatic risk cooling. Sending identical content to many contacts is blocked by default, and the one-to-many batch-sending feature is turned off out of the box — enabling it is a deliberate, Pro-only choice that requires you to confirm you have every recipient’s consent. These are safeguards, not a licence to relax your own responsibilities.
5. Enforcement
Because SocialMate runs locally, we generally cannot see how you use it — but if we become aware that a license is being used to violate this policy or the law, we may suspend or terminate that license. Misuse may also lead to your WhatsApp account being suspended or banned by WhatsApp, which is outside our control.
