DMCA & Copyright Policy

Last updated: 5 July 2026

SocialMate respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. This policy explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, and how our notice-and-counter-notice process works, consistent with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

1. Reporting alleged infringement

If you believe material on socialmate.app infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written notice to our designated agent (below) that includes:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail (such as a URL) for us to locate it.
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

2. Designated copyright agent

3. Counter-notification

If you believe your material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send our designated agent a counter-notification that includes: your signature; identification of the material and its location before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address, and telephone number, together with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court and will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

4. Repeat infringers

We may, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, disable or terminate the accounts or licenses of users who are repeat infringers.

5. A note on the desktop app

SocialMate runs on your own device and we do not host your messages or media. Content you send through your own WhatsApp account is not stored on our servers, so DMCA notices about such content should be directed to the relevant platform, not to us.
