Media archive & cleanup

Auto-download media with a size cap and per-type toggles, view it in-app, and prune it on a schedule.

SocialMate keeps a local media archive of what you send and receive — images, video, audio/voice, documents, and stickers — with controls so it doesn’t eat your disk.

The media archive — thumbnails, types, and storage at a glance.

Download policy

  • Smart mode (default) auto-downloads files under a size cap (default 25 MB) and defers the rest to on-demand.
  • Per-type toggles let you keep, say, documents but skip large videos.
  • Group media and your own sent media are archived symmetrically.

Cleanup

A cleanup scheduler auto-prunes media after N days (default 90), with a keep-pinned option and a storage quota. Media is served through a sandboxed custom protocol — the renderer never gets raw filesystem access.

Tip. Media events are on the API too — media.discovered/downloaded/failed/deleted — so your automations can react to new files.
