Cards expire and payments occasionally fail. When that happens on a renewal, we don’t yank your Pro out from under you.
What happens
- FastSpring retries the charge, and you’ll get reminder emails over the first week (roughly at the failure, day 3, and day 7), each with a secure link to update your payment method.
- Your Pro features keep working through a grace period of about 3 days while the retries run, so a temporary card glitch doesn’t interrupt your automations.
- Update your card (the link opens FastSpring’s self-service portal) and the renewal completes — Pro switches straight back on as soon as payment succeeds.
Even if it fully lapses, your data is safe on your machine and your tier simply drops to Free until payment succeeds — then Pro is restored automatically, no key re-entry needed.
Separate thing: being offline. The billing grace above is about a failed payment. Independently, if the app simply can’t reach socialmate.app (a network outage, not a billing problem), it keeps Pro running and only drops to Free after about 2 days of running without a successful check — and time your machine spends switched off doesn’t count. So a connectivity blip never touches your Pro either.
